Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson is a Mexican musician who was born into a family of musicians. She grew up listening mostly to traditional music, old boleros and traditional romantic and ranchero ballads. Ana is a fan of tangos and operas as well as other dramatic shows. Ana started learning how to play the piano and sing in the early years with her mother. She was given more formal singing instruction when she reached the age of 16 old, under the legendary Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. She studied in Guadalajara at the School of Music of University of Guadalajara before moving on to Toluca at The School of Sacred Music. While a young student and professional, she was a part of numerous chamber ensembles and opera choirs in Guadalajara as well as Mexico City. She was a member of the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus in the United States before moving to Southern California. She currently is a part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and is a frequent solo performer in classical Latin American music at private performances. The passion and love she has for music, art, and performing has her involved with a variety of local initiatives as a performer and teacher. Ana has been a participant in the Community Chorus of Redlands (as well as Inland Master Chorale) and Performance Loft. Ana feels privileged to be able to share with others her passion for the tradition of Latin American music. She hopes that this will inspire younger generations to keep the tradition alive.
